Charlie Shore's Regatta

In September 2011 media students from Richmond upon Thames College took part in the Charlie Shore Regatta. This was a modern recreation of the historic Regatta, funded by a successful REIC bid for £5,000 from the Civic Pride Fund.

The aim of the Charlie Shore Regatta was to reintroduce a river related activity to the heart of Twickenham and to engage with our heritage and involve young people and the wider community in an activity where everyone could participate, either actively or passively.

The REIC commissioned a dance performance to open and close the Regatta combining performing arts, history and sport on the banks of the river and its immediate environment
